This place is a little run down. First time here from out of town , and to my amazement, the seats are folding chairs. The chair my daughter was in had a broken armrest (didn't stay in the up position, so it was useless). My armrest had no padding like some of the others. Seat wasn't comfortable at all. All in all, I expected better from a "major city" civic center. Barely had any concession stands open, only saw "bars" and who runs a bar with "cash only" in a major concert location? I felt like I was at a state fair, not somewhere I spent $200 at. The only way I would come here again would be if Jesus and Stevie Wonder were dual headlining a concert!!!
I can not say enough about the civic center. The theater offers such an amazing, personal experience with the artist/band. The main ballroom is a hub for multiple Mardi Gras organizations throughout the year as well. This building has seen a lot, but the management is overly competent and respectful.
Clean and air conditioned. One of the better places to host large events. Parking is additional and can take time to get out of parking. Location near downtown and 1-10 make for easy access.
Excellent customer service. We attended the Disney Live event and one of the 5 seats we purchased broke. Not only did they refund the FULL amount of the ticket and fees, they also sent my daughters two HUGE Minnie Mouse dolls. I cannot say enough good things about this facility and their staff. We will continue to support them and you should as well !
Staff speak to guests in a rude manner. They always blocking your view of the stage making it difficult to see the performer. Very uncomfortable seats and cramped environment.
