I had to move out of the house because management refused to fix the ceiling in the living room, dining room and kitchen that was caving in (from the water damage). A contractor told me that the ceiling would most likely fall within a year and I was not willing to risk my life and my safety to live there.

Terrible renting experience talk and treat people like animals.

The apartment was not insulated at all and my utility bills including lights, gas and water would typically run me about $300-$500 per month. And that was me heating or cooling only 2-3 rooms. Not the whole house.

I lived in one of Stacy Real Estates properties for about 2 1/2 years. When I moved in the house was filthy, but I cleaned it the best I could and started trying to make the apartment my home. I lived in the upstairs portion of an old house that had been converted into 2 apartments.

When it came time for my security deposit to be returned first and foremost he refused to send it to me in the amount of time that AL law requires and when I did receive it he had charged me for things that a result of the house being not properly cared for by management.

And lets not forget about the termites that would swarm a few times a year. Imagine coming home to your ENTIRE kitchen and bathroom covered in termites. The drawers, cabinets, floor, inside oven gloves, in the toilet... I mean they were everywhere!

Speaking of bathrooms. My apartment came with 2 bathrooms however, except for 4 months out of the 2 1/2 years I lived there, I could only use 1 of my bathrooms because the sewage from the toilet would drain into the walls and would eventually show up on my downstairs neighbor's ceiling. She mentioned this problem to management repeatedly and nothing was done until he had to tear the wall out of that area of the house to repair termite damage. Also, when I would shower my downstairs neighbor could watch water from my shower run down her bathroom wall and nothing was ever done about that.

However, I will say this in favor of Stacy Real Estate. If you have a SMALL problem that is quick and inexpensive to fix they will come out there quickly (usually same day or next) to fix it. They were also very kind when I moved in and allowed me to pay my pet fee over time.

When they would come to fix something in my house they would leave all of their trash in my apartment. They repaired a lock once and left all these little parts to the lock just laying in the floor. Once they tracked mud from one end of my house to the other. Another time they moved some very heavy boxes and a television (all to heavy for me to move) out of a closet and left them in the hallway for me to clean up.

Gradually things got worse. Huge cracks in the ceilings and walls appeared. Leaks in the roof caused massive water damage in the kitchen, living room and dining room ceilings. Little or nothing was ever done to fix the leaks, or the damage. When the ceiling began to hang low because of the water collecting on top of it I had to poke holes in the ceiling (which was VERY soft from the water damage) to let the water out. I pointed this out to management and nothing was done. I also had an area of the living room that water would pour down when it rained. Management cleaned some leaves off the roof 1 time to try and fix this problem but that did not work. I'm sure the mold growing behind the walls was horrible (and possibly deadly).

The staff of Stacy Real Estate are the most despicable people I have ever met. They will look you straight in your eyes and lie to you. They will laugh in your face. They will try and talk down to you and they will do anything they can to save a dime, even if it means letting their tenants live in dangerous conditions. Although their rent might be cheap, it's not worth it! I hope that someone will read this and it will make a difference in the real estate company they use.
