Sad that what would have been a nice dining experience was ruined by a couple of minor details. The food is excellent and the service was great, but the stereo was so loud that it was almost torture. Nothing worse than bad jazz played really loudly right in your ear. On another very minor note, with all the care that went into cooking the food, they serve it completely without any garnish or color of any kind. It looks like what I imagine the food in a prison must look like. C'mon guys, ten cents worth of parsley can show you value your food and your guests and you're not just out there slopping the hogs. People have other senses than just taste you know.
Second time eating....just as fabulous as the first time. Great service, amazing food, nice location, parking is easy. Could not ask for more. Definitely will be returning again. Highly recommend.
Great stop off the interstate...great char-grilled oyster just feet from the highway. One of a few places to find deep water red shrimp. Seafood with a Caribbean style rum punch made for a nice break from the road.
Great oysters and preparations. We sat at the bar and the oyster shuckers prepared a couple "off the menu" broiled oysters that were easily some of the best I have had. The smoked Gouda cheese grits were great as well. Lastly, I asked the bat tender if she would make me a custom cocktail that she wasn't familiar with - not only did she do it but she also made it better than I can make it at home.
My husband and I were going out to eat for my 40th birthday dinner. We saw this place on Google and thought since it was only a quarter mile from our hotel, we'd give it a shot. Wow. Impressed. Some things were just okay, but the entrees were really excellent! Wish we were there longer to eat there a second time!
