A warm, inviting environment for my dogs and wonderful Veterinarians!

My family and I recently moved here from North Carolina. I've gone to this office a matter of three times, and this last visit was very uncomfortable. Upon leaving, I informed the Vet techs that I had ordered my heart worming medication from 1800 pet meds for my older dog, and they informed me that most places are fraudulent and that it would be better to order it from them. Then, with a disrespectful attitude, they decided to tell me that 1800 pet meds can't approve purchases without a vet approval. I have our previous vet from North Carolina on my account, and the medicine I ordered was for my older dog, not my younger puppy that I had seen today. They acted as if me not purchasing from them (or my animals not receiving heart worm medication at all) was a crime, and that I was a bad pet owner. I'm not a vet tech, I'm not a vet, but people have families, budgets, and other circumstances. No one should be bullied into buying medication, nor should they feel like bad owners for not purchasing from the vet office themselves. The front desk tech showed extreme disrespect and should reassess how she approaches medication with other owners in the future. Sorry, but it makes your office look terrible. Vets, talk to your techs.

I would give this place zeros stars if it would allow! I have had nothing but problems with this place. They tell you one thing and do another! If you bring your animal in be prepared for an absolutely outrageous bill -they'll take you for everything. The first visit showed just how unprofessional they are. One of the vets had her 7yr old child in the room running back and forth to get they shots and such for my dog. This recent visit they told me not once but twice they would call me before they did any procedure on my dog to let me know what was wrong with him and how much it would cost me, they proceeded to do whatever they wanted and in a "rush" as the vet told me without speaking to me first! They never called me to tell me what was going on, I had to call them. First they told me he had an appt for 9am, then another person told me it would be 1030am, around 1130 when I had to call and ask what was going on they said he would be looked at within another hour! My husband then called to check on him, frustrated at their response “we had other animals with emergencies, we will get to him in the next hour or so,” he had a little attitude with them. He strongly suggested they call him back within the hour and let him please know what was wrong with our animal. He received no call. Over an hour later the vet called me to let me know my husband was rude to her employee...again I had to ask about my dog! So the vet tells me what was wrong and what procedure they did to fix him. The vet was very rude to me and seemed to only be concerned that my husband was rude and called “rushing” her. Which was why we received no call before they proceeded! So that means they rushed the procedure! Our dog is our child! The bill was so outrageous so I asked if I could make payments and the girl practically laughed at me for even asking! They proceeded to say my husband was rude to them and we could find another clinic if he continued and I let them know they have no worries bc I will NEVER go there again!

Staff turnover is very high recently, which is troubling for me. My entire family has used them for years and I have been hesitant to move on, but the place seems in a constant state for flux. Dr. Beth (the owner) is a good doctor, but she is usually at the other office (Irby-Overton). I'd suggest you go there and see her specifically. The support staff at Great Oaks is great , although they are starting to phase out as well. Such a shame.

We had a very sick puppy on Father's day 2010. No other Vets were open but Dr. Martin was in his urgent care office. I am so thankful for his dedication. He took my girl in and within minutes diagnosed her, He explained her condition and gave me instructions on how to administer the meds. I was very pleased with this office. I would recommend it to anyone.
